In June’s newsletter, I shared my conclusions and opinions based on the 2008 list of 50 Best Workplaces in Canada. My conclusions and opinions were summarized by the following observations related to the attributes shared by the top ten employers on the list:

1. Engaging work environments that promote and enhance creativity in how employees perform their jobs and how they add-value to their organization, their colleagues, and their clients.
2. Key motivator being the combination of loving the work we do and feeling alignment of our personal values with our colleagues personal values and our organization’s values.
3. Leadership by BIG “V” vision people who are passionate about their Vision and passionate about communicating their Vision at every level of their business, every day, and to everyone they meet through their words and aligned action.

In Junes Best of Blog, I shared the characteristics that Canadians consider to be important to their job satisfaction.

1. Respectful treatment
2. A healthy and safe environment
3. Trustworthy management
4. Work-life balance
5. A sense of pride and accomplishment
6. Training to do their jobs effectively
